3 Sampdoria players could follow Giampaolo at Milan
Marco Giampaolo will be the new coach AC Milan. The Italian could reportedly bring three Sampdoria players with him at San Siro.
Another year of transition for AC Milan. After holding tight the third spot for much of the season the Rossoneri suffered a total debacle in the final games and finished Serie A in fifth place. Once again AC Milan will play in Europa League, UEFA permitting, and not in Champions.
Leonardo and Gennaro Gattuso have left the club leaving Paolo Maldini in charge. The legendary number 3 will become the new technical director of the club while Marco Giampaolo will be appointed shortly as the new AC Milan coach.
First Maldini must complete his staff and find a new sporting director but the announcement of Giampaolo is just a formality. Sky Sports has revealed that the parties have been in contacts since March and the 51-year-old Italian coach will finally have have the chance to coach a top club.
During his many years in Serie A Marco Giampaolo has promoted several promising talents like Quagliarella, Patrick Shick, Zielinski, Leandro Paredes, Lucas Torereira and Saponara.
The new Milan will follow a similar path relying a lot on hot prospects. However, Giampaolo may not be the only arrival from Sampdoria because he would like to bring three players with him at Milan. Starting from the “new Modric”.
